In this session, Dr. Isang Awah from Oxford University will speak about her own experience and there will be time for informal discussion and questions and answers. Isang was also a valuable contributor to the ThinkLab during her PhD at Cambridge!

About our speaker: Dr Isang Awah is a Project Manager in the Department of Social Policy and Intervention at the University of Oxford. She works on the development of the Parenting for Lifelong Health Digital (PLH Digital), a digital version of the in-person parenting programme. Her research interests include social issues and literacy especially in developing countries and poor communities around the globe. She holds a PhD in Education at the University of Cambridge. She also holds degrees from Harvard University, U.S.A. and the University of Uyo, Nigeria. Isang is also a writer and film producer. As founder of MyRainbowBooks Limited, she introduced in Nigeria personalised storybooks that are tailored for African children and also initiated the nationwide annual creative writing competition for children in Nigeria.
