Geonyoung Kim

Geonyoung Kim is a PhD student in Heritage Studies at the Department of Archaeology. She holds an MA in Public Archaeology from UCL and BA in archaeology from Peking University in China. Her research interests include public perceptions of conflict heritage and ethics in heritage interpretation. Her PhD thesis looks at museums’ role in the process of reconciliation during an ongoing war, by exploring visual representations of the Korean War in South Korean museums and public perceptions of them. She worked as a field archaeologist in South Korea and has experience in research excavations in China, France, and Azerbaijan.
