Louisa Bartolo

Louisa Bartolo is currently finalising her PhD on algorithmic recommender systems at the Digital Media Research Centre and ARC Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision-Making and Society at Queensland University of Technology, Australia. She has a strong foundation in digital methods, analysing the outputs of algorithm audits to investigate the algorithmic curation of content online in different platform contexts, with a focus on digital platforms that host user-generated, cultural and entertainment content. During her PhD, Louisa also collaborated on a wide range of projects tackling a variety of issues at the intersection of platform policy, content moderation, and the regulation of digital platforms and has published in international peer reviewed journals. She holds a BA in Social and Political Sciences from the University of Cambridge and a MSc in International Public Policy from University College London.
